Update Patient Preferences
Update communication and payment preferences so patients receive the right messages.
Steps
- Open the patient profile in PayStack.
- Find the Preferences section.
- Update what you need:
- Communication preferences (text/email)
- Opt-in/opt-out status (if applicable)
- Receipt or notification settings (if available)
- Save changes.
- If you changed messaging preferences, send a test message (if appropriate) to confirm delivery.
What Happens Next
- Updated preferences affect how patients receive statements, receipts, and other messages.
- Changes apply immediately, but scheduled messaging follows your automation rules.

- The patient profile shows the updated preference.
- The next message/receipt uses the updated delivery method.
Common Issues
- Patient still receives messages after opting out: confirm the opt-out status saved and verify youโre updating the correct patient/contact.
- Delivery fails: verify phone/email and resend.
- Conflicting contacts: ensure the correct primary phone/email is selected for messaging.
