Update Patient Preferences

Update communication and payment preferences so patients receive the right messages.

Steps

  1. Open the patient profile in PayStack.
  1. Find the Preferences section.
  1. Update what you need:
      • Communication preferences (text/email)
      • Opt-in/opt-out status (if applicable)
      • Receipt or notification settings (if available)
  1. Save changes.
  1. If you changed messaging preferences, send a test message (if appropriate) to confirm delivery.

What Happens Next

  • Updated preferences affect how patients receive statements, receipts, and other messages.
  • Changes apply immediately, but scheduled messaging follows your automation rules.

Youโ€™ll Know It Worked When

  • The patient profile shows the updated preference.
  • The next message/receipt uses the updated delivery method.

Common Issues

  • Patient still receives messages after opting out: confirm the opt-out status saved and verify youโ€™re updating the correct patient/contact.
  • Delivery fails: verify phone/email and resend.
  • Conflicting contacts: ensure the correct primary phone/email is selected for messaging.
