Use advanced integrations and APIs and confirm data flows correctly.

Steps

  1. Confirm what you’re trying to integrate (PMS, custom workflow, or API-driven setup).
  1. Gather what you need:
      • System credentials/authorization
      • Office/location context
      • The data you expect to sync (patients, balances, payments, etc.)
  1. Configure the integration according to your technical setup.
  1. Run a small validation test (one patient or one payment-like event) and confirm the outcome.
  1. Document the expected behavior for your team.

What Happens Next

  • Advanced integrations typically sync on a schedule or via event-driven/API calls.
  • Timing and mapping rules determine where data appears and how quickly.

You’ll Know It Worked When

  • The integration reports healthy/connected status.
  • Test data appears in the expected system(s) within normal timing.

Common Issues

  • Data isn’t appearing: confirm mapping rules and whether the sync is scheduled vs real-time.
  • Only some records sync: capture examples and escalate—this is often a mapping issue.
  • Permissions errors: confirm the account used has the required access.
