Configure Devices for PayStack

Configure workstations and terminals so PayStack runs reliably.

Steps

  1. Choose the workstation that will run PayStack (and the Windows integrator, if used).
  1. Confirm basic workstation readiness:
      • Reliable internet connection
      • Power settings that prevent sleep during business hours (recommended)
      • Required permissions to install and update apps
  1. Confirm the payment terminal is set up and connected to the correct network.
  1. Open PayStack and verify you can complete a basic workflow (load patient β†’ start payment β†’ see terminal).

What Happens Next

  • Correct device configuration reduces payment failures and prevents sync interruptions.
  • If a workstation sleeps or loses network, payments and syncing can fail or delay.

You’ll Know It Worked When

  • PayStack stays connected without errors.
  • Terminals remain discoverable/connected.
  • Payments can be processed end-to-end.

Common Issues

  • Workstation goes to sleep: update power settings and re-test.
  • Terminal disconnects: verify network stability and terminal configuration.
  • Updates fail: confirm admin permissions on the workstation.
